Delving into Best Practice; A Case & Evidence-Based Approach
This seminar will present and discuss strategies for the integration of best-practice procedures, evidence based practice, documentation, ethics and quality assurance techniques for the provision of powered mobility and power seat functions. The presentation will include video and photography of Rhonda Clark throughout the wheelchair assessment process.
Learning Objectives
Through the use of case-based and evidence based learning, upon completion of this workshop, participants will identify:
- Elements of the durable medical equipment and service delivery process
- Stages of the wheelchair assessment process
- Concepts of seating and positioning as related to posture and functional mobility
- Current evidence for the documentation and justification of seat functions including seat elevation, tilt/recline, elevating leg-rests, and standing
- Strategies to promote the field of Assistive Technology & Mobility Assistive Equipment through effective documentation and outcome measures
- Advocacy and ethics in today’s service delivery process
