Permobil Elevates IT to Group Management Level with CIO Katrin Blixt

Permobil, a global leader in advanced assistive mobility solutions, today announces the elevation of its information technology (IT) function to the organization’s highest leadership level. Katrin Blixt, who has served as the company’s Chief Information Officer since 2019, now joins Permobil’s Group Management team and reports directly to CEO Chuck Witkowski.
This move reflects Permobil’s strategic decision to fast-track its digital evolution, encompassing upgrades to core infrastructure alongside cutting-edge innovations such as artificial intelligence. This acceleration is designed to enhance operational agility, deepen customer and end user connections and propel our core mission of creating a future free from mobility limitations.
“Katrin has been instrumental in driving our IT strategy over the last decade. Her passion and grit have helped us unlock new capabilities across the company, from digital tools that support our customers to modernizing our digital infrastructure,” says Chuck Witkowski, CEO of Permobil. “As we now intensify our digital transformation, her leadership will be pivotal as a member of group management to ensure information technology and data is embedded in every strategic decision we make.”
With a background in computer engineering, Katrin Blixt is an experienced technology and transformation leader with deep expertise in global IT, digital strategy, and organizational change. She joined Permobil in 2015 and has held the CIO role for the past six years, leading major digital transformations, strengthening cybersecurity and resilience, and building a scalable IT foundation that enables innovation and business growth. Before Permobil, Katrin spent more than a decade at Ericsson in senior roles within master data, ERP programs, and global IT leadership.
“I’m excited to bring IT into the heart of our strategic decisions,” says Katrin. “Technology is not just an enabler – it’s a catalyst for innovation. Our focus will be on building smarter, more secure solutions, harnessing AI, and empowering teams to collaborate in new ways. This progress will redefine how we deliver value globally – and ultimately create even greater independence and possibilities for our users.”
Based in Stockholm, Katrin will continue to lead Permobil’s global IT strategy and operations.
