Permobil Research & Innovation together with a team of global Clinical Educators completed a white paper on the benefits of power standing wheelchairs.  

The Permobil White Paper: A systematic review of the evidence for power standing wheelchairs contains the summarization of 41 publications that were identified through a systematic literature review. These articles were reviewed for the clinical, functional, and psychosocial impact of power standing wheelchairs.  In addition, data analysis from Permobil connected wheelchairs is included.   

Permobil intends for this White Paper to support clinicians and prescribers when determining justification of a power standing wheelchair for their patients.  In addition, the evidence summarized in this Permobil White Paper hopes to support increased use of power standing to a wider range of people by eliminating contraindications, informing payers about the clinical, functional, and psychosocial benefits of power standing wheelchairs as well as influence legislation to increase access for all.
