Who we are

V-Trak is a Permobil product brand that designs and manufactures posture management solutions for wheelchair users. 

What we do

V-Trak has more than 25 years’ experience developing postural seating solutions which are designed to provide wheelchair users with spinal support, positioning, and optimal comfort. 

Why we do it

V-Trak was founded by Rodney Palmer in the 1990s to address the lack of comfort and support offered by the wheelchairs of the time. He watched therapists use their hands to stabilize and support wheelchair users’ positions and saw how the support was lost as soon as their hands were removed. Since then, V-Trak has worked to engineer solutions that are designed to enhance the lives of wheelchair users. 

The V-Trak name uses the Roman numeral ‘V’ to represent the five full freedoms of movement within a wheelchair. These are:  

• Seat depth (front and back movement)
• Off set (left and right movement)
• Height (up and down movement)
• Rotation 
• Pivot

V-Trak’s commitment to enabling and enhancing these movements is maintained in everything we do. 

How we do it

V-Trak works in collaboration with healthcare professionals and wheelchair users to develop adjustable backrests and seating support solutions that meet the specific positioning needs of individuals.
