Permobil launches the new TiLite TR & ZR

Pasco, WA — March 16, 2026 — Permobil introduced the new TiLite TR and TiLite ZR titanium wheelchairs today, marking a purposeful evolution in its flagship titanium lineup. The updated designs bring refined aesthetics, lighter components, and enhanced adjustability — elevating performance, simplifying daily use, and delivering a ride that inspires lasting confidence.

The result of these changes to the TR and ZR is a lightweight, responsive, and durable chair that stays precisely tuned and fits seamlessly into the user’s life.

“The next evolution of our titanium lineup reflects our commitment to continuous innovation and premium craftsmanship,” said Todd Walling, president of Permobil Americas. “By reducing weight and enhancing agility and durability, we’re delivering the performance and dependability that users count on every day.”

The TR and ZR series will continue to be fully handmade with redesigned machined caster bullets, slimmer fork caps, and streamlined CoG systems. These updates will create a modern, cleaner aesthetic for the TR and ZR series. Weight‑saving improvements across the frame make the chairs easier to propel and transport and optimized center‑of‑gravity adjustability enables precise, responsive tuning.

“As a manual wheelchair user myself, I know how much wear and tear extra weight can put on someone’s shoulders, and I wanted to save the user energy where I could,” said Doug Garven, principal product manager. “When we were designing the new iteration of the TR and ZR, we were always thinking about ways to cut weight and make the geometry as compact as possible. I feel confident that we’ve achieved that.”

While new changes are coming to the TR and ZR to reduce weight and update aesthetics, end users can trust that their chair will still fit like a glove with TiFit. Each chair is handcrafted to match the end user’s unique measurements for comfort, efficiency, and trust in every movement.

To further fit the chair to a user through customization options, Permobil is launching four new titanium tattoos, which are permanently imprinted onto the finish of a titanium or aluminum chair.

The updated TR and ZR will continue to deliver consistent, reliable performance with the natural strength, fatigue resistance, and long‑term durability that Permobil’s premium titanium chairs are known for.
The newest TiLite TR and ZR models are available now in the Americas, European, and Asia-Pacific regions through Permobil’s authorized provider network. You can visit the TR and ZR product pages to learn more. Additionally, photos of the new TR and ZR can be accessed here.
