This Privacy Notice explains how Permobil collects and uses data related to anyone interacting with our different digital services.

Thank you for using theĀ MyPermobil app. This Privacy Notice explains how we process data related to your highly monitored connected medical device (the wheelchair) and the personal information connected to this service through MyPermobil. Usage and Device Information

The wheelchair collects details about how you use our products. This includes seating and positioning regimen and history, mileage, battery status, maintenance information, diagnostic data and service data. Data is collected to continuously elevate the user experience and we separate technical product data from personal information. As a user you have the possibility to Unlock the full potential of personalizing your wheelchair with MyPermobil.

Location Information

Permobil offers location-based services that require your explicit consent prior to activation. The information collected includes the real-time geographic location data of your wheelchair when the GPS device is activated. When you activate location data you share GPS information with Permobil and with your Service Provider. You can turn on or off location data collection on your device in the MyPermobil app, by contacting your Service Provider or Permobil.

When using the services as an identified user, we collect and process the following data about the you:

  • Contact Details: Name, email address, phone number, country, chair serial number.
  • Service Data: Activities performed within the service.
  • Communication Data: Any information shared during support inquiries or other communications.

Data Collected from app users

For users of MyPermobil, we collect:

  • Technical Data: IP address, device type and version, operating system.
  • Usage Data: Pages viewed, time spent in the app, and navigation paths.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: Information for analytics, app functionality, and enhancing user experience.Ā 
  • Location data: GPS data is only processed if there is an explicit consent.

Where we Store your Data

Data is stored electronically in secure servers and services provided by the following vendors, within subscriptions owned and managed by Permobil. The service agreements of the subscriptions regulate the data in these subscriptions to be owned by Permobil. Data is communicated to and stored in the data center associated with and closest to your country of registration.

Sub-Processors

Permobil is using trusted third-party service providers (sub-processors) as part of the service offering. These service providers are integrated into the services and we share parts of the personal information with these services in order to provide the functionality these third-party services offer.

Purpose of Processing

Permobil processes your medical device and personal data solely to:

  • Access information about the medical device such as battery status, system message reporting, seating activity, usage data and access wheelchair settings.
  • Service providers can view the status of the wheelchair to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues remotely or to support the service technician with information about which tools and parts are needed for the service visit.
  • An authorized service technician connecting to the wheelchair can access the collected information to provide services and configuration of the medical device.
  • Necessary communication and notices, such as communication about the products and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.
  • Optional communications to keep you posted on Permobil’s latest product announcements, software updates, and upcoming events.
  • Fulfill regulatory obligations related to medical device products.
  • Provide ongoing support and aftercare services to the customers.
  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, audit, research and improve the Permobil services and medical device products. For these purposes we only use the minimum amount of personal information necessary for performing these tasks and where possible, we only use information that has been anonymized.
  • Enforce the End User License Agreement (ā€œEULAā€); work with your Service Provider to order and provide products and customizations; and enable clinics and health service providers to track and service their fleet of Permobil products.
  • Technical product data can be used in anonymized form and for product development purposes.Ā 

How we protect your privacy


We know that data and privacy is important. We therefore:

Personal information in the MyPermobil app will only be saved as long there is an active account.

Disconnecting from the connected chair

You can disconnect your personal data from the connected chair at any time. Either through the MyPermobil App or by contacting your Service Provider or Permobil Customer Experience.

Having your personal data erased

You can have your personal data erased from all Permobil systems by contacting Permobil Customer Experience.Ā
